4 month old

I now have a 4 month old!! Or should I say a 4 month old trapped in a one year old body! We have left the 6 month clothes behind and have quickly moved onto the 9-12month clothing! We have what they call in the baby industry a "chunk" but I call him a solid tank to his face so he doesn't develop any self esteem issues. Our little solid tank is currently in the best stage so far...he giggles, smiles, and plays with his toys for hours.  I don't have to worry about him crawling away, he likes my singing and he rarely cries. What was that...he likes my singing?!? Oh yay!! That's right he likes my singing!! I have an entire repertoire of Girl Scout songs from my childhood thanks to my mom! The only problem is that I remember half of the lyrics most of the time and just make up the other half all the time.  I sometimes get so into it, I realize that I have been singing for a good 20 minutes, and have no idea when he fell asleep on me!!

So 4 month old: Some things I want to remember:

1. He loves his jumper! We call it the command center, because when he gets in it, he seems to get right to business like the fate of the world depends on him completing his mission!

2. He finally took A bottle at daycare! I emphasize "A bottle" because he will only drink one a day! In the afternoon he knows I'm coming so I imagine he is saying "listen daycare lady, I'll consent to that poison you are feeding me in the morning, but my mom is coming after my nap and I will not stand for this tyranny!"
Here are all the bottle rejects! Welcome to my world...
Don't be fooled by the cute face, he is a bottle tease...you think he is going to start drinking, and then he suddenly remembers that it's poison!!

3. He is currently teething, which means he will chew on anything that crosses his path, I was reading him a bedtime story and he kept trying to chew the pages, when I turned the page, he looked at me like "do you mind?!? I was eating that!"

4. I believe we officially have a morning person in our family, Jaden has technically been sleeping through the night, I say technically because to us night people, 5am is still in the middle of our REM cycle! No matter what time he goes to sleep, he is up at 5 ready to play! He will lay in his bed, talking and talking until someone gets up to listen to him.

5. I'm not sure if Jaden loves his bath for the water or because he is naked. Recently when I take off his clothes for the bath, he squeals with excitement like "freedom!!!!"

6. I took him to "bring your kid to work day" at my work. I work with the homeless population and veterans, so it was fun to watch grown men turn into little softies talking baby talk! One guy was so happy, he said "look he is smiling at me...he has no teeth like me!! Matching gums!" Jaden got an official ID badge, colored a picture for the veterans and helped assist me during my case management meetings! He slept for awhile but was so excited about all the happenings and didn't want to miss out on all the fun.
Laughing in his packnplay at work!

And now a few of my favorite photos from the past month:
Jaden's first Easter
Cool dude!
Superhero week at daycare!
He wants to crawl so bad!!
His first football!
At our 4 month well check! Jaden weighed in at 19.9lbs and 27 inches! Poor guy had to get 4 injections!!

Life changing love!

3 month old!

We have a 3 month old!!

Things to remember:

1. He loves his hands, he studies them, eats them, plays with them
2. He has just started to pick up toys and study them, although most of the time he will check out the toy and then quickly get distracted by his hands and go back to playing with his hands again.  If he keeps this up, Christmas is going to be easy for us this year!
3. He still loves his bath time. He is always determind to kick all the water out of the tub like it is his job and the lives of others depend on him.
4. We have started reading him books every night, he likes to look at the pages and grab the books
5. He hates a bottle and will go 8 hours without eating during daycare if he has to.  Everytime we try a new type of bottle he will take it the first time and then after that, he adapts quickly as though to say "you guys fooled me last time, but this time, I will outsmart you and make you work harder to figure me out!"  The daycare ladies have had to put a pacifier in his mouth, pull it out, replace it with the bottle and repeat that process until he drinks 3oz. We will get the last laugh, little Jaden, just you wait, challenge accepted.
6. He loves to smile and he loves his daddy.  Kyle made him belly laugh for the first time the other day, it was one of my favorite moments so far
7. He is a fun-loving 17 pound, 26in, 6-9month clothes wearing, 3 month old and I love watching him discover the world and seeing his personality begin to form.

2 months

He 2 month old!

I can't believe I have a 2 month old! I looked back on the photos of jaden over the past month, and Couldn't believe how much he has changed.

1. He now smiles all the time
2. He has discovered his hands and loves to study them
3. He sleeps 6 hours straight, wakes up to eat for 10 minutes and goes back to sleep for another 4 hours.
4. He loves his bath and his changing table
5. He loves taking naps with his mom
6. He is now wearing 6Month clothing
7. With a little support, he loves to stand up
8. He can lift his head well above his body and has strong head movement and control
9. He loves to study things and objects, that's why we have to turn off all the lights to try to get him to go to sleep, otherwise he will study different object or people for hours
10. He hates blankets, the minute I put a blanket over him, his feet start power kicking until they are off.
11. He is a little furnace, this baby runs hot!
12. He likes going on strolls until he gets too hot in his car seat!
13. His best friend is the right monkey on his bouncer
14. He loves laughing with his dad, when Kyle gets off work!

I just love this little guy and have enjoyed discovering his little personality starting to come out!!

Also happy birthday to his favorite lolly and his cousin Caroline!

Maternity leave

Maternity leave

My maternity leave is coming to an end. I've had the best time with jaden the past 8 weeks!

Our routine consist of waking up around 7am, coming downstairs and checking out what the monkeys on jadens bouncer have been up to all night. We have named them Steve and George, jaden rarely pays george any attention and when he does its a death stare. Here are a few photos of jaden and his boys.

He likes Steve

But doesn't know what to think about george!

Next, Jaden takes a nap and I eat breakfast while watching my Netflix. I started watching friends at season 1, I'm currently on the last season and hoping I can conquer the whole series in the next 2 days!

When Jaden wakes up, we practice a bit of tummy time and then we usually errands....most of the time it's to target so we can walk around and look at all the things I don't need. I've gotten much more confident in taking jaden out, the first few times, if he would even whimper in the slightest, I would freak out and pack him in the car and head home. If he whimpered in the car, I would pull over immediately and make sure he was still breathing...now in the car, if he starts crying, I go through my list of songs I know and sing them as loud as I can, it's fun for me and it usually distractions him long enough to make it home.
My travel and shopping buddy

When we get back, Jaden goes down for another nap. This nap I usually clean up the house and look at all the home improvement ideas on Pinterest...luckily, I am going back to work, otherwise I would have destroyed the house will all sorts of pinterest fails. I'm not the type that has attention to detail. I did manage to do a couple of home improvement and organizing projects.

Kyle comes home after jadens afternoon nap, and we start his bedtime routine, he loves his baths and his dad gives the best baths!! Then it's bedtime and we get ready to start our day on repeat!

I have had the best time with him and I'm so lucky I got to stay home with him for 8 weeks instead of the typical 6! I know that tuesDay is a few days away and I am completely dreading handing him over to the daycare lady! In 20 years he won't remember being dropped off at daycare, but I will and it already makes me emotional just thinking about leaving him. I know it will be good for him, but I wish I could have just 2 more months!
